Engines for SsangYong vehicles (Parts of complete engines), attachments engines, additional components and kits

SsangYong (now KG Mobility or KGM) engines are predominantly produced in South Korea and, through historical and modern partnerships, feature Mercedes-Benz engineering or in-house developed technology for global markets. The engines are available in petrol and diesel variants, frequently branded as "e-XDi" for diesel and "e-XGi" or "GDI-T" for petrol. 

Current Engine Lineup (English/Global Versions)

1.5L e-XGi 150T Turbo GDI (Petrol): Found in the Tivoli and Korando, this engine produces up to 163–170 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque.

1.6L e-XDi 160 (Diesel): Used in the Tivoli, delivering up to 136 PS and 324 Nm of torque.

2.0L e-XGDI 200T Turbo GDI (Petrol): Used in the Rexton and Musso, producing up to 225 horsepower.

2.2L e-XDi 220 (Diesel): The flagship diesel engine for Rexton and Musso (Q200/Q300), offering 181 horsepower and up to 500 Nm of torque in some configurations. 

Key Historical and Developed Engine Types

Mercedes-Benz Licensed Engines: Early models like the Musso and first-gen Korando used Mercedes-Benz petrol (M111, M104) and diesel (OM601, OM602) engines, often produced under license at SsangYong's Changwon plant.

XDi 200/270 Diesel (2.0L/2.7L): Common in the Actyon and Rexton II (2005–2018), often with Mercedes-Benz 5-speed 5G-Tronic or BTR automatic transmissions.

e-XDi 220 (2.2L Diesel): Introduced around 2015 to comply with Euro 6, often paired with Aisin 6-speed or Mercedes-Benz 7-speed 7G-Tronic automatic transmissions. 

Key Characteristics

Manufacturing: Engines are centralzied and built at the Changwon Plant in South Korea.

Transmission Partnerships: SsangYong often pairs its engines with Japanese Aisin 6-speed or German Mercedes-Benz 7-speed automatic gearboxes.

Focus: Modern engines (post-2015) focus on high-torque diesel performance for towing and 4x4 applications, and downsized, high-efficiency turbo petrol engines.
